When I first began working on this my second album I did not have any preconceived idea as to any kind of overall theme for the CD,  but as it turned out most of the tunes happened to be bossa novas. I always loved Brazilian music and especially the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim so I thought it would be appropriate to call the album Mostly Bossa.

In Henry Franklin and Yayo Morales I am truly fortunate to have two such outstanding musicians. Henry is a key figure in the lineage of jazz and has played with some of jazz's greatest figures such as being a member of great trumpeter Freddie Hubbard's group. Yayo who is originally from South America is an outstanding jazz drummer who is also a master of Brazilian rhythms making him the ideal drummer for this CD.
